Storyboards & Layouts

 Picture books are usually 32 pages long & set out something like this..

Layout design can be a wonderful story telling tool. It can help reflect the pace of a story, create suspense & anticipation towards the page turn.. revealing surprises or answering questions. It can add to the feel of a spread, directing the reader towards key moments within that page. 

During the design phase I will typically talk you through some pageanting ideas, then create detailed layout ideas like the ones below. These are so important as they will closely represent the finals. See 'spread 13' with notes & the final spread below. The notes will include explanations along with ideas, thoughts & suggestions usually for extras or side stories. 

 

Once these are signed off we can move onto the final spreads!
